Helping Animals During Disasters

Heidi’s Hope for Homeless Animals’ community-wide Pet Donation Drives have filled three tractor trailers with pet food and supplies that we sent to save hurricane-impacted pet victims impacted by Hurricanes Irma, Florence, and Dorian.

Hurricane Dorian

In September of 2019, Hurricane Dorian made landfall as the strongest landfall in the Atlantic basin. It was an extremely powerful and catastrophic Category 5 hurricane that is regarded as the worst natural disaster in the Bahamas recorded history. Once again, Heidi’s Hope For Homeless Animals organized another community-wide pet donation drive that filled a tractor trailer with pet food and pet supplies to help save the stranded pets in desperate need. Our community wide pet donation drive was a tremendous success with over 2,353 pounds in pet food and supplies, which is approximately $21,720.02 in value to save the lives of hurricane-impacted dogs and cats! Thanks to our community support, Heidi’s Hope For Homeless Animals’ Hurricane Dorian Donation drive was a big success that helped save the lives of dogs and cats and helped to reunite them with their families where they belong!

Helping Animals Internationally

Ukraine

Currently, there are thousands of stray dogs and cats living on the streets in war-torn Ukraine. Due to the war, food and supplies are extremely limited. Heidi’s Hope For Homeless Animals shipped over five pallets of pet food and supplies to help animals in their most desperate time of need!

Puerto Rico

Hurricane Maria was a deadly Category 5 hurricane that devastated Puerto Rico. Much of Puerto Rico was without power and there was extreme devastation. Animals were left behind and needed to be transported stateside in order to get the lifesaving care needed. Heidi’s Hope focused on getting crates for transporting animals back to the mainland. We were able to donate 85 crates!
